how do you get a copy of the approved i-140 if the employer is not willing to give it?
There is no straight way to get a copy of I140 approval notice. For all practical purposes the I140 reciept number will be sufficient(eg: To retain your priority date in case you file GC with another employer).
However, You can file a request using FOIA. Check the following threads.

If they are not showing the intent to deny letter, they may be want to prevent you from quitting the company and going elsewhere now that u have ur 3 yr H1B with you.....be mindful of that.

I had a 10 year multiple entry B1/B2 visa which was to expire in 2013. I got married a couple of months ago, and since my husband is on a H1B, I got a H4 visa for the next 1.5 years. My passport with the B1/B2 visa DOES NOT have CWOP (Canceled without prejudice) written on it. My question is- has my B1/B2 visa been canceled? Or is it still valid? Can I hold 2 visas for entry into the US at the same time. If it has not been canceled, can I still use it for entry into the US once I lose my H4 status? Thank you for your time.

Your attorney is correct. Stop Payment can be a bad spot on you. It is like giving somebody phony money. Receiver think he/she is receiving something, but it proves to be nothing. Everything else, e.g. writing to USCIS for withdrawing your second app etc. or otherwise hoping that they will reject it, is ok

I went with regular.I learned that I could upgrade anytime after I receive the receipt. So, if there's any changes as others have warned in the forum, I'll upgrade at that point.
Not sure if my response makes sense to most, but, I wanted to get this done during Nava Ratri. My attorney wouldn't process it Premium way until they receive the physical check in hand. Which means I'll have to push this into next week, I was not ready for that either.
Long explanation, but all who responded and viewed the thread deserve one.

Renew the passport through expedited processing if available, then take an infopass appointment and tell the officer that you had an interview and that he didn't get the stamp because his passport had expired, but now it's renewed.

I have got EAD and AP.I think i would not have got them if the 140 is not filled.
I also know the date on which he filled. but employer is not sharing the receipt because there is no mandate for him to do so.

Did you try calling USCIS customer service number? You just have to get lucky. Some customer service people are nice & some are just plain rude. (I have had both experiences just today )

I have consulted USCIS rep by taking InfoPass. She was friendly and talked with USCIS Texas rep (thats where mine went), they told her to re-apply. She sent an email and received a response saying to re-apply...................................

Looks like the EB2 dates for india have retrogressed by two years. I am applying for green card and would like to know if I shouls go with EB2 or EB3.

I dont think its as simple as choosing between EB2 or EB3. It would depend on your job description and which category the job qualifies for. Not all jobs would qualify for EB2. You should consult an immigration attorney to discuss your case.

Indeed, such a hate-motivated bill may well compel all Latinos to pack up and leave the state. Brewer's choice is clear to anyone who cherishes freedom and democracy�veto SB 1070, and toss it into the dust bin of history where it belongs, together with Jim Crow, the Nazi Nuremberg laws, and South African Apartheid.
But, believe it or not, the Governor is actually considering signing this venomous bill into law. The bill does nothing to build a functional immigration system, secure the border nor rid the state of dangerous criminals. Nor does it protect the wages and working conditions of US workers. Instead, it targets day laborers and ordinary citizens whose appearance might raise "reasonable suspicion" of unlawful immigration status in the mind of a police officer. If Governor Brewer signs SB 1070, people in Arizona with foreign sounding accents or who don't "look American" had better not run into the wrong cop (or even the right cop) because the law mandates they prove they are here legally.
SB 1070 is not the product thoughtful policy making; it is hate speech masquerading as legislation. This sounds extreme until you read SB 1070 which is a hodgepodge of mean spirited provisions that will effectively transform Arizona into a police state for anyone whose skin is a shade other than white. The bill's effect may very well be to make Arizona "Latino Free" and force those who stay behind�U.S. citizens included�to feel like hunted criminals. The University of Arizona's Udall Center for Studies in Public Policy estimates that the total economic output attributable to Arizona's immigrant workers was $44 billion in 2004, which sustained roughly 400,000 full-time jobs. Furthermore, over 35,000 businesses in Arizona are Latino-owned and had sales and receipts of $4.3 billion and employed 39,363 people in 2002, the last year for which data is available. The Perryman Group estimates that if all unauthorized immigrants were removed from Arizona, the state would lose $26.4 billion in economic activity, $11.7 billion in gross state product, and approximately 140,324 jobs, even accounting for adequate market adjustment time. Putting economic contributions of this magnitude at risk during a time of recession would not serve Arizona well." And this loss of revenue to the hard working taxpayers of Arizona does not take into account the cost of defending the inevitable lawsuits that will be brought against the state for civil rights and other violations. In the void, local and state authorities have run roughshod over the civil liberties we cherish as a nation. What we see today is a perfect storm of crises�ICE's neglect and abuse of immigrant detainees which has culminated in 107 deaths in immigration detention since 2003, the serious civil rights abuses in the notorious 287(g) program which is administered by ICE and "deputizes" state and local law enforcement agencies to enforce immigration law, and an immigration bureaucracy that thumbs its nose at the needs of American business and families. As a nation we must demand that Congress and the Administration put politics aside and get to the hard work of building a safe, orderly, fair, and functional immigration policy designed to protect civil liberties and serve the needs of all Americans.
As for today, Governor Brewer has a choice. She can succumb to hatred and fear by signing SB 1070 or allowing it to become law without her signature (it is hard to say which would be more cowardly). There was no agreement signed. It was just agreed on an email. Am i still bound with the emplyment laws. Just want to understand before taking any steps. Also the project has ended after 4 month but i don't have any document. Also company B can't reveal any internal documents.
If no agreement is signed once you receive the legal notice, take it to an attorney and respond with legal notice. Do not get scared by this thugs.
Just let them know you are ready to handle it legaly and ask them to send legal notice. If you know any of their irregularities tell them you are going to send the complaint to USCIS.

If I remember correctly (read somewhere on this forum) the strategy should be that you take a infopass appointment on the same day as your finger
printing appointment, talk to the immigration officer and ask him about your wife's FP appointment. If it was indeed sent out and you havent received it he can give you some kind of a receipt(?) and both of you can have the FP done on the same date.

Since we are the only dog bone that 'Donkeys' have got to gain any required support for CIR. We need to work hard to get our provisions on the first draft and do everything possible to be included in the final version of the bill.

We got approvals for LC and I-140 within weeks of each other.
Now, our PD became current in September 2006, he got approved a few days ago and...I found out I am stuck in the name check shit!
FYI, his name is extremely common and mine is extremely rare (in my entire life, I have never met someone with the same name!), so go figure...:confused: :confused: :confused:
This shouldn't be a problem if you are a law obeying citizen :D How do you find out the status of the FBI name clearance? You wait until PD becomes current and nothing happens then place an inquiry with BCIS?
